Sunrise was beautiful, but the beach was just way too rocky! Tried to enjoy an easy 20. Was easier to run than to enjoy. Glad I did it though!
Long run – Recovery here I come
I did my long run on the weekend and it was great.
This week will be my ‘recovery’ week and I will do 20:40:60.
So far I am also super delighted with changing to plant-based food. I guess I needed the switch. It is hard to explain, but since rethinking the way I eat I enjoy food and cooking again. It also overall feels much cleaner and lighter.
Still going strong
Did 48 yesterday and 24 today.
Also read my old blog entries and it is super motivating to see how far I have already come.
24 minutes done
I did increase and did my 24 easy this morning.
66 minutes and then some
My run yesterday was great. 66 minutes and more done. Basically I was out all day hiking running walking. It was great. Also I am on the third day of trying out a plant based diet. Not sure how long I will do this. It is an exiperiment. I comitted to 7 days. So far it has been a win. I did replace milk with Almond milk and I am ok with it. I don’t like soy so this was a big one for me.
Today I did a restday, so tomorrow is the next week and I just realised that I have to decide if I want to increase by 10% or stay where I am. I do feel good and I think I’ll increase. So it will be 24 minutes tomorrow!
Slowness
Finally I think I am in good enough shape to run slow enough! I was able to my 22 minutes of easy slow running and my heartrate didn’t go over 145.
I think now I can really say that I am following Barry’s plan from slowtwitch and I am looking foward to see its effects. It is hard to run so slow, but I know this is the right way.
44 minutes easy done
5k in 44 minutes slow running done. Sunrise was spectacular again. Just gotta love those Irish clouds!
Proper sunrise
I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise while doing 22 easy minutes of slow running.
Can’t get better than that, but we’ll see tomorrow.
10% and sunrise
I decided to increase my running by 10% this week. So I did 44 minutes easy today.
It was a beautiful morning. The tide was just out so there was a nice sandy area to run along. Focussed on slowing down and felt fresh afterwards. Contrasted by my ugly mod when I woke up! Happy to have gotten through my restday and to have no nigggles or pain.
I realized that right now I am so blessed and I will make sure that I enjoy it. So many years I struggled to get to where I am now and finally my consistent and slow effort are paying off. I can feel that soon I will be strong enough to fly over hills and enjoy pure bliss, while not paying for it afterwards. Can’t wait, but have to be patient a little longer.
Rainy twenty
It was raining. I did my 20 minutes. I felt great.
Still can’t believe how crazy this is! However I did run too fast! I need to focus on slowing down …
